{"id":8470,"date":"2020-06-20T01:48:55","date_gmt":"2020-06-20T06:48:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ask-a-muslim.com\/?p=8470"},"modified":"2020-07-12T10:21:59","modified_gmt":"2020-07-12T15:21:59","slug":"die-wunder-von-jesus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ask-a-muslim.com\/de\/die-wunder-von-jesus\/","title":{"rendered":"Die Wunder von Jesus"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Miracles of Jesus <\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Quran gives Jesus one of the highest positions among the prophets. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Unlike other prophets who performed miracles, Jesus himself was a miracle because he was born of a virgin mother and God describes him and his mother as follows: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">&#8222;&#8230; and We made her (Mary) and her son (Jesus) a sign of the worlds.&#8220; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(Quran 21:91) <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">It is written in the Quran about Jesus that he performed numerous miracles that were not given to other prophets. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">God says: <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201cAnd We gave clear miracles to Jesus the Son of Mary &#8230;\u201d (Quran 2:87) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The following is a brief description of the miracles that Jesus performed and mentioned in the Quran: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">1. A table with dishes<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In the fifth chapter of the Quran \u201cThe Table\u201d &#8211; named after the miracle of Jesus, God describes how the disciples asked Jesus to ask God to send down a table loaded with food so that they can remember a special day in the future .<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201cWhen the disciples said: &#8218;O Jesus, son of Mary, is your Lord able to send us a table (with dishes) from heaven?&#8216; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">he said, &#8222;Fear God if you are believers.&#8220; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">They said: &#8218;We want to eat of it and our hearts should be calm and we want to know that you really spoke to us and we want to testify for it ourselves. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Then Jesus, the son of Mary, said: &#8218;O my God, our Lord, send us a table (with dishes) from heaven that it is a feast for us, for the first of us and for the last of us, and a sign from you; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">and take care of us; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">because you are the best provider! &#8218;\u201d(Quran 5: 112-114)<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Since that event it has been a \u201crecurring feast for us\u201d, it corresponds to the Last Supper, also called the Lord&#8217;s Supper, the breaking of the bread, called the Eucharist or Communion. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Holy Communion has always been a high point in Christian worship. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Encyclopedia Britannica says: <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201cThe sacrament is a Christian sacrament that visualizes the deeds of Jesus during his last sacrament with his disciples. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u2026 Paul&#8217;s letters and Acts make it clear that early Christianity believed that this facility included instructions to continue the feast\u2026 The Lord&#8217;s Supper has become a central rite of Christian worship. \u201d[2] <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">2. Still in the cradle<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">One of the miracles that the Quran describes, though not mentioned in the Bible, is that when Jesus was still in the cradle, he spoke to protect his mother from people&#8217;s accusations of being a child had no father. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">When someone started asking her about the strange story of her birth, Mary only pointed to Jesus, who spoke miraculously, just as God had announced to her. <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">&#8222;And he will speak in the cradle to people and as an adult, and he will be one of the righteous.&#8220; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(Quran 3:46) <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Jesus said to people:<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201cI am a servant of God. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">He gave me the book and made me a prophet. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">And He gave me His blessing wherever I may be, and He commanded me to pray and give alms as long as I live; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">and deferential to my mother (to be); <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">He didn&#8217;t make me violent and unhappy. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">And peace was upon me on the day I was born, and (peace will be on me) on the day I die and the day I come back to life. \u201d <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(Quran 19: 30-33) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">3. And a bird <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">is mentioned to God, a miracle that was not granted to anyone in the Quran except Jesus, one that is very similar to the creation of Adam. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">This miracle is one whose magnificence cannot be denied. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">God mentions in the Quran that Jesus said:<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">&#8222;See, I create the shape of a bird for you out of clay and I will breathe into it, and with God&#8217;s sake it shall become a bird.&#8220; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(Quran 3:49) <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">This miracle is not found in today&#8217;s New Testament, but it is mentioned in the non-canonical gospel of Thomas: \u201cWhen this boy was five years old, he played at the ford of a torrent &#8230; he then took soft clay and made twelve sparrows out of it &#8230; but Jesus just clapped his hands and called to the sparrows: &#8222;Go away, fly away and remember me, you who live now!&#8220; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">And the sparrows took off and flew away noisily. \u201d <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(The Gospel of Childhood Thomas: 2) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">4. Healing the Blind and the Leper<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Similar to the New Testament [3], the Quran also mentions that Jesus healed the blind and the lepers. <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">&#8222;&#8230; and I heal the blind-born and the leper &#8230;&#8220; (Quran 3:49) <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Jews were very advanced in the field of medicine at the time of Jesus and they were accordingly proud of these achievements. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">For this reason God gave miracles of this kind to Jesus, ones that the Jews could understand well that no force of nature could do anything like that. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">5. The Raising of the Dead <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">&#8222;&#8230; and bring the dead to life with God&#8217;s permission &#8230;&#8220; (Quran 3:49)<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">This, like the creation of a bird, was an incomparable miracle, one that should have led the Jews to undoubtedly believe in Jesus&#8216; prophecy. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">In today&#8217;s New Testament, we read three cases in which, with God&#8217;s permission, Jesus brought the dead back to life &#8211; the daughter of Jarius (Matt 9:18, 23; Mark 5:22, 35; Luke 8:40, 49), the son the widow in Nain, (Luke 7:11), and Lazarus (John 11:43). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">6. The care of today and tomorrow <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Jesus was given the miracle of knowing both what people had just eaten and what they had in store for the coming days. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">God says: <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201c\u2026 And I tell you what you eat and what you store in your houses. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Truly there is a sign for you if you are a believer. \u201d <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(Quran 3:49)<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">A Proof of the Truth <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Similar to other prophets, Jesus performed miracles to convince skeptics of the truth, not to demonstrate divinity. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">The Quran says, <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">&#8222;Truly there is a sign for you if you are a believer.&#8220; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(Quran 3:49) <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">These miracles were accomplished only by the will of God, if He had not wanted them, they would never have come about. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">God clarifies this in several places in the Quran by saying: <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201c\u2026 With God&#8217;s permission\u201d (Quran 3:49; 5:10)<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Even though Muslims today cannot confirm this as the truth that really happened, the Bible says in certain traditions that Jesus was not always able to perform miracles. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Once when Jesus tried to heal a blind man, the first attempt failed and Jesus had to try a second time (Mark 8: 22-26). <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">On another occasion: \u201cAnd he couldn&#8217;t do a single act there; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">He put his hands on only a few sick people and healed them. \u201d(Mark 6: 5) The <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">fact is that neither Jesus nor any other prophet could perform miracles on his own will. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">They were accomplished only by the will of God Almighty &#8211; a fact that is also emphasized in today&#8217;s Bible:<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">\u201cA man, shown by God among you, with deeds, miracles and signs, which God did through you through him. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(Acts 2:22) <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Footnotes: <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">[1] Matt. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">26: 17-29; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Mark 14: 12-25; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Luke 22: 7-38; <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">I Cor. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">11: 23\u201325 <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">[2] \u201cEucharist.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">Encyclop\u00e6dia Britannica from Encyclop\u00e6dia Britannica Premium Service. <\/span><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">(http <\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: inherit;\">:\/\/www.
