Shaykh al-Alb\u0101n\u012b says in his introduction:<\/p>\n
\u201cKnow, O Muslim brother, that it is not possible for anyone to rise to this station of loving All\u0101h and His Messenger (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) except by tawh\u012bd (singling out) of All\u0101h, the Most High, alone in His worship, and by singling out the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) alone for following from among the servants of All\u0101h, due to (All\u0101h\u2019s) statement: \u2018He who obeys the Messenger (Muhammad (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645)) has indeed obeyed All\u0101h\u2019[1] and His statement \u2018Say (O Muhammad (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) to mankind): \u2018If you (really) love All\u0101h then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur\u2019\u0101n and the Sunnah), All\u0101h will love you.\u2019\u2019[2] And (the Prophet) (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) said: \u2018No, by the One in whose Hand my soul is, if M\u016bs\u0101 was alive, he would have no choice but to follow me.\u2019[3] I say: so if someone like M\u016bs\u0101, the one who All\u0101h spoke to (directly), cannot follow other than the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645), then can anyone else do that? Hence, this is one of the definite evidences of the obligation of singling out the Prophet (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) in following, which is one of the requirements of the shah\u0101da (testimony): \u2018anna muhammad ar-ras\u016blull\u0101h (that Muhammad is the Messenger of All\u0101h).\u2019 Therefore, All\u0101h, the Blessed and Most High, in the before-mentioned \u0101yah, made following him (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) alone to be a proof of All\u0101h\u2019s love for (the follower). And there is no doubt that whoever All\u0101h loves, All\u0101h is with him in everything, as occurs in the authentic had\u012bth al-Quds\u012b:[4] \u2018(All\u0101h says), \u2018My slave does not come near to me with anything more beloved to me than that which I have made obligatory upon him, and My slave continues to come near me with supererogatory deeds until I love him; and when I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he grasps and his leg with which he walks.[5] And if he asks me, I will surely give him, and if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely protect him . . .\u2019[6] And if this divine care is only for the beloved slave of All\u0101h, it is obligatory upon every Muslim to take the means which will make him beloved to All\u0101h, namely following the Messenger of All\u0101h (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) alone; and just by that, he will attain special care from his Mawl\u0101[7], the Blessed and Most High. Don\u2019t you see that it is not possible to know the obligatory duties and distinguish them from the supererogatory acts except by following him (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) alone? And indeed there is no doubt that the more the Muslim learns about the biography of the Messenger of All\u0101h (\u0635\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647 \u0648\u0633\u0644\u0645) and knows of his pleasant nature and virtues, the more his love for him will be and the more extensive and comprehensive his following of him will be.\u201d<\/p>\n
