True joy and inner peace arise through submission to the orders of the creator and sustainer of this world. God says in the Quran:
„Truly, in the memory of God the hearts become calm.“ (Quran 13:28)
On the other hand, those who turn away from the Quran will have a difficult life in this world. God says:
„And to those who turn away from My admonition, [1] there will be a life in tribulation, and on the day of resurrection we will lead him blindly to us.“ (Quran 20: 124)
This may explain why some people commit suicide even though they can afford anything materially. Let’s see Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam), for example, who used to be a famous pop singer who sometimes made more than $ 150,000 a night. Only after he had converted to Islam did he find true happiness and peace, which he had not found in his material success. [2]
