Why Can’t Muslims Eat Pork?

Allah says in the Quran, “Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to eat except carrion, running blood, swine—which is impure—or a sinful offering in the name of any other than Allah. But if someone is compelled by necessity—neither driven by desire nor exceeding immediate need—then surely your Lord is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (Quran 6:145). So Allah tells us that pork is impure. There are many studies that even show how pork is the most dangerous meat and rots the quickest. But as Muslims, when Allah decrees a matter, we don’t question it. We know that morality is always subjective unless it is from the Divine Creator. Our God made us, and if He made us, He knows what is best for us. The first person to manufacture a car knows what is good to put in the car and what is bad for the car since he is the one who made it. Similarly, our Creator is the one who made us, so we get our objective morality from Him.

And Allah knows best.
